ACPAA sets up 10 working committees with the aim of safeguarding the interests of the profession, strengthening the guidance and supervision for the profession, developing academic research and international exchanges and cooperation, exercising its functions in both self-discipline regulation and services, acting as a bridge and link, and processing ACPAA’s work.
The 10 working committees are the specialized bodies of the Council to exercise its functions, accountable to the Council. Each committee is headed by either president, vice presidents, or members of the standing council.
1. Professional Interests and Self-discipline Working Committee
Functions: To provide guidance and supervision for the practice of members; to investigate and take disciplinary actions on patent attorneys’ violation of law and rules of professional conduct; and to safeguard legitimate rights and interests of patent representation profession.
2. Professional Development Strategy Research Working Committee
Functions: To deliberate and implement the working plan for the profession development; to do the research and draft on the plan of the profession development; and to establish and improve a system of patent representation management.
3. Professional Rules Formulation Working Committee
Functions: To establish and improve the rules of professional conduct and a system of profession management; and to formulate ACPAA’s relevant regulations.
4. Education and Training Working Committee
Functions: To formulate training schedule and curriculum, and improve the education and training system for patent attorneys, so as to enhance their capabilities and qualities.
5. Litigation Representation Management Working Committee
Functions: To nominate patent litigation agents, and to conduct training, annual reviewing, disciplining, publicity, etc.
6. Academic Working Committee
Functions: To formulate plans for academic research and exchanges; and to provide guidance for the sub-committees to carry out relevant activities.
7. International Exchanges and Cooperation Working Committee
Functions: To formulate and maintain the working discipline and system for dealing with foreign affairs; to make the overall plan of international exchanges and cooperation; and to organize patent attorneys to participate in international exchanges.
8. Professional Publicity Working Committee
Function: To publicize the work of ACPAA and the images of the profession; to implement publicity plans; to coordinate with specialized and professional committees of ACPAA in conducting activities regarding publicity.
9. Financial Working Committee
Functions: To manage, use, supervise, and inspect membership fees; to research and formulate the standard of membership fees; and to guarantee the regular collection of fees and its reasonable and efficient use.
10. Standards Management Working Committee
Functions: To develop working plans for formulating professional standards; and to carry out the work of professional standards, including but not limited to research, formulation, and management.
